IED NYC Event Explores the Role of Creativity in Shaping a Better Future

Creativity is increasingly recognized as a key skill for professionals seeking innovative solutions to today's complex global challenges and opportunities.

On May 22, IED will host a special event in New York City exploring how creativity, education, and design can contribute to building a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable future. The event will take place at Salotto the Brooklyn-based hub dedicated to Italian excellence in art, design and innovation.

Moderated by Riccardo Balbo, IED Academic Director, the conversation will feature distinguished alumni who have built successful careers in the New York creative industry. Among the speakers are artist Emiliano Ponzi, Gabriel Zangari, Design and Managing Director at Design Group Italia, Sophie Herslow, Head of Marketing North America at Artemide, and Gabriele Chiave, Founder and VP Global Creative Direction, Design and Innovation at The Estée Lauder Companies.

The discussion will focus on the evolving needs of today's market, the role of design education in addressing global challenges, and the value of the Italian design approach in shaping creative leadership.
