IED São Paulo hosted an exclusive lecture for undergraduate students with internationally renowned designer and IED Alumni Gabriele Chiave, supported by Revestir. Chiave is a globally recognized creative director and designer, known for his collaborations with brands such as Kartell, Moooi, Flos, and Louis Vuitton. He is currently Vice President Global and Chief Creative Officer of Design and Innovation at The Estée Lauder Companies, leading creative direction across major international beauty brands.
The lecture, titled “A Humanistic Approach to Creativity,” explored creativity as a deeply human process that combines rational thinking with emotion, storytelling, and cultural awareness. Chiave highlighted the importance of craftsmanship, heritage, and narrative in contemporary design. Through selected projects from his career, he showed how design can move across product design, interiors, and art direction, creating a balance between tradition and innovation.
The event offered students a unique opportunity to engage with one of the most influential voices in international design and to reflect on the role of creativity in today’s design industry.
