Verdiana Vannini, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Controvento, joined the UAL Product Design Society at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, for a Design Talk focused on how design can shape meaningful experiences across culture, products and everyday life.
During the conversation, Verdiana shared insights into Controvento’s multidisciplinary practice discussing the intersection of product design, creative strategy, and cultural projects. She reflected on the importance of developing a clear creative vision while remaining open to experimentation and collaboration across disciplines. The talk also explored the challenges of leading international creative teams, building relationships with global brands and translating ideas into projects that balance innovation, culture and business objectives.
The event created an open exchange with students and emerging designers encouraging questions around career paths and the evolving role of designers in contemporary practice. It also highlighted the value of interdisciplinary thinking as a foundation for future design education and professional growth.
We thank the UAL Product Design Society and Central Saint Martins for the invitation and the inspiring discussion.
